Maleficent Inspired makeup look

So since I'm utterly obsessed with Disney, I've been looking forward to the Maleficent movie ever since I heard the first whisper about it.

When my Queen Lana Del Rey released her version of the classic "Once Upon a Dream" I could hardly contain my excitement anymore.

Since my boyfriend and I are trying to save money we have had to cut back on a lot of fun things but I made him promise recently that we would go on at least one date a month. A real date, which we hardly ever do anymore because we've been together for so long.
Well when he does a date, he does it for real! So we planned to see Maleficent on Saturday night.

Well I wanted to do my makeup just right and in turn, ended up making us late. We went to see it in 3D and we wanted to get DBOX seats (seats that move) but we got there too late. We bought our tickets literally 2 minutes before it started so we ended up having to sit in the very front section, but it wasn't so bad.
After my look, I'll talk about the movie so read on!

Obviously I had to do a look inspired by Maleficent. Since Angelina Jolie's makeup is a little boring (although gorgeous! just not fun to recreate) in the movie, I modeled it after the cartoon original mostly.

I decided to do a purple smokey eye with a green inner corner and, of course, a wing.

On my lips, of course, I wore my MAC True Love's Kiss which is from the Maleficent collection.

I'm pretty happy with how it turned out! It's amazing how far I've come with blending and yet still how much I have to go. I thought it was really great when I did it but looking back I can provide a more clear critique of myself.

I used mostly my BH Cosmetics 120 palette. I also used the Wet n Wild I <3 Matte 8-pan

I still really like how it came out.

As for the movie, I really liked it. I heard complaints that it moved too quickly and I can understand where they are coming from. It could have been more lovely if it were longer. I still liked it though.

Angelina Jolie, as expected, commands the screen so easily. And I like the direction the story went, with a twist on a classic.

After the movie (which we saw at the mall) we stopped at Bar Louie which is also in the mall. I had never been there so we stopped in for some drinks.

I had the Smores Martini, pictured above. It has chocolate sauce and graham cracker crust and marshmallows in it. It was pretty good but also kinda thick and not something I would normally desire to drink. It was nice for having "a drink" but not ideal if you are planning to have a few (or more :P ), you know what I mean?

All in all I had so much fun dressing up to go out on a date with my man. I definitely suggest everyone see Maleficent, and in 3D for sure!

Day 3 Aboard the Disney Magic - part 2

Sadly I am reaching the end of my vacation documentation. If you need a refresher, you can see all the posts here.

So when I came home I spent the first few days meticulously going through and editing my pictures. Once I narrowed down the 800 (yes, seriously, over 800!) pictures to the ones I wanted to post, I dove in to write about my first vacation.

I cranked out the first few posts and saved the drafts, and then life got a little hectic. I wasn't able to write up my final post and that was a HUGE mistake.

Because now here I am 2 weeks later having to write about the saddest part of my cruise! The end! So I am a wee bit sad.

Not to mention that now it's been long enough that my memory is fading a little...

REGARDLESS, let's dive right in to where we left off.

We got back on the ship in Castaway Cay and expected to enjoy some time in the pool.

This here is the Aquadunk. When the ship went into dry dock they completely changed the water slide they had on board. To be honest I was really looking forward to doing the Aquaduck (what used to be there) which was a tube slide that went out over the edge. But they replaced it with this thrill ride that also goes out over the edge of the ship.

You step into the capsule that you can see at the top. You stand there and lean back and then the floor drops out from under you. As you can see it's a pretty quick slide from there, but apparently scary!
I wasn't able to do this slide #fatgirlprobz but my boyfriend rode it and came back absolutely terrified.

After that we made a stop at the little coffee cafe and grabbed some snacks. My bf was amazed that the snacks there were free. We chilled out a little bit there and I had myself a strawberry daquiri.

Next we were finally going to go in the pool! ...until we actually walked over to the pool and discovered it was crowded to the brim! We were bummed out that we couldn't use the pool at all during the trip but then again, we live in Florida. There are pools everywhere! In our backyard, even. So the pool was not the top priority.

After that we soaked up the view a little because I wasn't ready to say goodbye to it!

It's just so beautiful! Like something out of a dream.

After that we rushed to get ready because we wanted to watch the sun set (can't believe we missed it the first few nights!) but that was cutting it short with our show.

I have to say that making sure we watched the sun set was one of our best choices. It was so beautiful and romantic and breathtaking to stand there and watch the sun slip below the sea.

I live on the west coast of Florida so I see a lot of ocean-view sunsets but there's nothing like being IN the ocean with nothing around for miles.

This is one of my favorite pictures, I just love the lighting of the sunset behind us.

After it set completely we rushed to the theater to see the last show. We had heard lots of great things about this show, in fact it apparently won an Emerald award, which is awarded to the best show in a cruiseline in the world. So that must mean something, right?!

As we were about to find a seat (right in the front! Showing up early pays!) the usher said to me "So how was snorkeling?!" I must have gave her a weird look while I was trying to remember if I had mentioned snorkeling to this cast member. That's when she told me she was the one that rented me the snorkels! I was amazed that she remembered me & that I had said it was my first time. This is just one of many examples of how the customer service at Disney (in the parks, hotels, or cruise) is out of this world. They remember every face and make it their duty to make sure you know that you're special.

The last night's show was great. No spoilers but it was kind of narrarated by my one and only Peter Pan, so I was delighted at that. It had a lot of different characters from stories, as you can see above Timon & Pumbaa, Cinderella, Prince Charming and the fairy godmother.

The show was definitely inspiring and beautifully done and just so great all around! It brought me to tears at the end.

After the show we found ourselves in the hallway where a bunch of Officers of the ship and the cruise director herself were standing around with their lanyards trading pins with people. It was a little bit of a frenzy! We are total assholes so we quickly went into the shop and bought a few "mystery pins" because they are only a few bucks- we only wanted them to trade.
So we went around and looked at some of the pins...and that's when it happened. I laid eyes on the pin I knew I had to have.
Guess what it was...

a That's So Raven pin!!!! Whaaaat? I know! I have NEVER seen a pin for a TV show, much less alone a show that has been off the air for 10 years. I about flipped and was so excited.

Here's what it looks like. This is not my picture, this is one I found on ebay...there are actually a few listings of it for very cheap! What the heck! Who knew! Do these people not know the treasure they hold on to????

Anyyyyway, after the trading event it was time for dinner. Our last night's dinner was at Lumiere's, the Beauty and the Beast-styled French restaurant. Out of all the included restaurants, this one is the fanciest.

So...in the spirit of 'when in rome'...or in this case 'france'.....

I TRIED ESCARGOT!!!!!!

If you know me, you know that this is a very huge deal. I never would have guessed that I would willingly try ...snails. But here I was, being adventurous and shit. It wasn't bad!! I was surprised. I didn't exactly love it but it didn't have much of a taste. Just a chewy consistency that I wasn't too fond of. I didn't finish them but I am really proud of myself for stepping waaayy outside of my comfort zone and trying them.

Have you ever tried Escargot? What was your opinion on it? Or, what is the craziest thing you've ever eaten? That was a discussion we got into at dinner. They also served Duck but I just couldn't bring myself to try that! Ducks are cute!

For dinner I ate oven baked salmon royale crowned with a king smoked salmon horseradish crust with sauteed swiss charg, truffled cauliflower puree, and a chive buerre blanc....I don't know what most of that means but I CAN tell you that I was unimpressed. I didn't like it very much. The waitress offered to bring something else out and I honestly should have taken her up on it. But we were already behind in being served so I didn't want to make a big deal.

We ended up being one of the last tables to eat dessert and while we were waiting for it to come out, our waiter gave us some brain teasers that stumped us all. I really loved our waiter he was so nice and funny. It was also a nice last dinner to have with our table-mates. I really liked all of them and I was so glad we all got along.

This dessert was my favorite. I got the trio which includes 3 minis of the popular desserts. Boy, am I glad I did that!
From left to right it is mango cheesecake, tahitian vanilla creme brulee, and dark chocolate infused peanut butter mousse. It was all sooo delicious! Honestly if we hadn't been given an additional dessert (see below) I would have ordered a full size of the creme brulee. It was so fricken delicious!!

So then after we are nice and full they come over with a special dessert for us. Since we were celebrating our 3 year anniversary, we made a note of it during our reservations. We were so delighted when they brought us out this special dessert and cruise-exclusive pins!

I loved the pins- see how they say DCL and look like the port window? So sweet! Even though people kept asking us if we were married after we put them on. You're allowed to have a happy ending without marriage, people!

The dessert was very special and delicious. It was such a nice touch for them to end the cruise on. It made us feel really special.

One of my favorite things about Lumiere's is the light fixtures...as you can see they are modeled after the famous rose from the Beauty and the Beast story.

After dinner we were positioned in exactly the right spot for all the action. The atrium! We waited in a horrific line at guest services to try and settle our bill (which, we ended up not even having to do because it wasn't as much as we thought) and wait for the Final Farewell party.

The final farewell was so special! Most of the characters came out for a last chance meet and greet and it was so great to see so many people all at once. In addition to the characters like Mickey, Minnie, the princesses, etc. there were also a lot of actors from the shows!

I immediately saw my favorite girl (evil stepsister/ Yzma/ dancer) and watched her while we were in line at guest services. I wanted to go say hi to her so bad and tell her how much I loved her performances. While I was watching her I didn't see a single person go up to her and I felt so bad, I wanted to run up and give her a big hug. FINALLY we were able to leave the line and I ran up to her and caught her RIGHT as they were saying the meet and greet time was over.
I quickly told her how much I enjoyed her performances and she was so tickled. I think I made her day. She was so happy to be recognized, because she wasn't in her Yzma or Stepsister costume, so no one knew it was her! But I got to see her and get a picture so that made me happy.

I also met the guy who played Scar in Villains Tonight!

Finally, all the characters lined up the stairs and did the famous song...

Now it's time to say goodbye to all our company...M-I-C See you real soon! K-E-Y Why? Because we like you! M-O-U-S-E 

I would be lying if I told you I didn't tear up during this part. It was so sad!!

After the party it was 10:30 and I really wanted to do the pop culture trivia game. I am so glad it wasn't a game where you get picked because I chickened out of playing at the last moment. It was kind of a free for all. I'm also glad I didn't play because a lot of the so called pop culture trivia was DATED! Update your trivia, Disney!

So we finished with that around 11 and at this point remembered that we were supposed to have our bags in the hallway for pick up....by 10:30! Whoops!!! We weren't even packed yet so clearly there was no way for us to do that. We were so busy after dinner I don't know how we would have even had the time, even if we were all packed up! I don't know how they expect you to do that.

So we ended up having to lug our luggage ourselves but it wasn't that bad since we didn't have that much.

We spent the rest of our last night exploring the deck a little bit and wishing with all our might it didn't have to end.

We went back to the room, packed, and then passed out. The next morning we had breakfast at Lumiere's. Breakfast had most of the same things that the buffet did, just in menu form. Unfortunately immediately after eating, we had to disembark.

So that wraps up our short but memorable trip aboard the Disney Magic!
It was unbelievable and I absolutely think it was worth the money. Of course, we got a huge discount for booking last minute with a florida resident discount.
The food was not mind-blowingly amazing. But the rest of the trip more than made up for it. And in fact I didn't eat that much! Which is a shame in hind sight.

Day 3 aboard the Disney Magic- Castaway Cay (part 1)

Yes once again I have decided to split the day in half. There's just so many pictures! I would hate to be overwhelming ;)

In case you need a refresher you can find the first few days of my vacation here.

The last full day of our cruise would be spent at Castaway Cay- Disney's private island in the bahamas.

We woke up nice and early on Sunday because I wanted to spend as much time on the island as possible. We also planned to come back a little early so that we could finally use the pool and hot tub on deck!

Once again we had a nice and full breakfast. The only complaint I have is that the scrambled eggs were runny, not perfect like they were the day before.

The view from breakfast....I truly couldn't believe that Disney has their own island! I love it because every single thing about it was hand crafted by Disney. & when something is hand crafted by Disney, you KNOW it will be amazing.

We got off the boat and one of the main things I wanted to do when we got there was go to the post office to send a postcard! I had read online that this was a neat thing to do because you could use Bahamian stamps and Castaway Cay has their own post mark. So I thought we must do it...until we got there. And realized it was closed. Because guess what? It was Sunday. D'oh!
So, kinda bummed we didn't get to do that. But we kept walking and saw Captain Jack Sparrow meeting people, so I grabbed a picture with him before we really entered the island.

One thing that was AMAZING...because it's Disney..guess what it had? Trams! Haha! Yep there were trams on the island to take you to different spots.

The first stop was the mainly kid oriented area. We skipped this one and went right on to the family beach/snorkel lagoon area.
We looked through the gift shop and then I couldn't get to the snorkel rental shack fast enough!!

I made the decision before we left that I really wanted to snorkel for the first time. I had never done anything like it. And it was the cheapest shore excursion AKA the only one we could afford.

It cost $30 to rent the equipment for the whole day so we only rented one set, although I wish it was something I could have experienced with my boyfriend.

I got all geared up to go in the snorkel lagoon and ventured in all by myself.

It was pretty cold! Even though the weather itself was really nice, the water was still pretty chilly. Going in I was making a total fool of myself. The lagoon was pretty empty! There were maybe 5ish people out in the really deep parts (it was a roped off lagoon but it was really big!) and then maybe 3 other people getting in at the same time as me. I was leading the pack and I'll admit I was kinda scared! I didn't know what to expect!

So I was trying to wade in and making a royal mess of myself before I heard a dad tell his daughter behind me "it's easier if you go in backwards" My head snapped up and I turned around and shouted WOW THANK YOU and the few other people around me all had a light bulb go off above their heads.

We all turned around and waded in backwards- which definitely didn't help with the fear factor.

Wading in and trying to figure out what to do was a little confusing at first. But once I dove in and figured it out, it was very easy! And fun!

This was a spontaneous picture I took from the lagoon of the bar and I am so glad I did because it ended up being one of my favorite shots!

Behold- the first fish I saw! I was a little intimidated okay. There were signs talking about stingrays and sharks and barracuda and jellyfish- it was a little scary! But I only saw fish.

One thing I loved was that there was a bunch of stuff underwater like a fish tank haha. Stuff to see and that simultaneously attracted fish to hang out. Above is a sunken boat.

I'm so glad I asked someone about it and they told me that the orange & white buoys were markers of where interesting stuff was. So I made it a point to try and go around to all of them..
However since it was a very large area I kept getting turned around and I didn't get to see everything.

 Of course my favorite sunken treasure was this Mickey statue!

So many fish! Just hangin' out like it's nothing.

Per a fellow snorkelers suggestion, I ventured to the very edge of the lagoon...hence the rope. And there was SO MANY fish I got freaked out and that's why this picture sucks. I didn't even stick around to watch them or anything I just hightailed it out of there. Haha! I bet there was some interesting stuff in there but I didn't even look!

More sunken things & fishies

I mean...naturally I had to take a snorkel selfie.

After getting lost too many times in the lagoon I was finally ready to come out. I grabbed my bf, who had been sipping drinks out of a coconut cup on the beach waiting for me. I told him my legs felt like jello.
Then we sought out the waterslides!

This was pretty cool...it was a dock of sorts that you had to swim out to that had 2 waterslides on it and other fun water features. Walking out to it, we saw a jellyfish!! We got so close to accidentally walking into it, that could have been bad!
We swam through the cold water and I was unsure about the slides at first. Being fat you just don't know if slides are do-able. Finally I just said fuck it and climbed the stairs.
I chose the enclosed slide and shoved myself off so fast to give myself an extra boost. Oh boy. FASTEST slide ever. I went flying out of it and hit the water so hard my bathing suit went completely up my butt. It was so much fun :|

No but really it was fun. Minus the super wedgie.

After the slides we decided to seek out the BBQ lunch place. The best part about the island was that all the food and stuff was included! So we went through the buffet. I got a hot dog, some corn on the cob, cajun mahi mahi, bbq chips, and some cinnamon cake.

After lunch I got some fruit punch and made myself some rum punch with the flasks we brought.
Then we decided to go to Serenity Bay, the adults only part of the island!

Serenity Bay was soo relaxing. There were lots of chairs, hammocks, and waiters bringing drinks. We just sat in beach chairs and looked out on the water for a while. My friend Heather and her family (including our dinner mates) showed up and then they went snorkeling.
It was one of those surreal moments that I didn't want to end. It was beyond beautiful and peaceful and relaxing.

But finally we decided to head back to the ship.

The sight of our ship made me so happy!

The last surprise was before boarding, Stitch was there to greet everyone back! It was cute and a nice little something extra.

So that was our day on the island! We had an eventful final night as well so look out for that in the next post!!

Getting closer to the end was sad, though. I never wanted it to end!! Vacation forever! :P

Day 2 aboard the Disney Magic (part 2)

So if you're keeping up, we just got done exploring Nassau

We wanted to make it back to the ship by 4 to play Bingo. We hadn't gotten to do any of the things we wanted to the night before, so we tried making up for it.

We made our way to the cozy lounge type area that Bingo was held in. It had lots of cozy seats and awesome lighting.

One not awesome thing was the price. So each session of Bingo was 4 games. They sold cards that had 6 grids on it per game. So instead of just one set of numbers to worry about, you had 6.

These cost $20. I asked if we could tear them in half, leaving 3 grids per person per game. They told us that wasn't allowed. We had to buy a pack each. So we did that. We figured, hey, maybe we'll make our money back! (Spoiler alert: we didn't make our money back.)

There was specific announcements saying that if you ripped your cards, it rendered them useless.
However at the end of the game we realized that pretty much literally everyone but us had ripped theirs to share. SO that was a bummer. We could have saved money after all.

Aside from that bingo was pretty fun and entertaining. They said their favorite number was B-11 because in spanish it was "Beyonce" that made me laugh so hard.

After Bingo it was time to start getting ready for the Pirates IN the Caribbean party! This was a pirate themed night.

Some people go all out dressing up, and others don't dress at all. We were somewhere in the middle. My bf had some accessories, and I wore a dress with keys on it and black and red. Yeah that's festive to me. Black, red, keys...pirates! Duh!

So because it was Pirate night Captain Hook was there to greet us all. Even though he's basically my enemy I still wanted to get a picture with him. He was actually very flirty, hahah.

The show that night, which we got to late, was Villains Tonight. 

This show's main interest was comedy. It made a lot of pop culture jokes and at times seemed a little cheesy-try hard. But I liked the theme of villains, of course. And I liked how they used some that were a little unconventional like Yzma, Cruella, and Scar (not pictured). Then you have your usual Maleficent, Ursula, Captain Hook etc.

Overall the show was pretty great. I really enjoyed it especially Ursula. I mean look at her!

After changing into my "pirate outfit" I MET PETER PAN!! For those who don't know, Peter Pan is my favorite Disney movie and also my favorite Disney character. So that was fun.

Next was dinner at Carioca's, the South American themed restaurant. This dinner went by quickly for me. My bf talked with one of the guys and I hit it off with the group of 3 from Michigan. We talked and talked so much that I hardly paid any attention to my food!
It was really nice to all get along like that.

I don't have any pictures, but here's what I ate:

Appetizer: deep fried lobster croquetas with a banana lentil salad and creamed horseradish - This was pretty good. Lobster is always good!
Meal- Lobster, shrimp, and mahi mahi skewers on Peruvian quinoa salad served with dried mango, pineapple, and toasted coconut salsa.
My boyfriend is actually Peruvian so it was interesting to try some of the foods that his family eats often.
This was good but I honestly didn't get to eat much! I was talking so much I was hardly paying attention to my food. I regret this. Hah!
Finally for dessert I had no sugar added strawberry cheesecake. In case you couldn't tell...I have a thing for cheesecake! I should have picked something else. If the "no sugar added" didn't give it away...it was not that tasty.

Somehow after eating a relatively small meal (and no lunch) I still was able to feel full. I don't know how!

After dinner was the Pirates IN the Caribbean deck party!
We put on the bandanas they gave us at dinner (they said Pirates in the caribbean and had a bunch of pirate mickey heads on it) and pulled out the glow sticks we brought. I read online that glow things were a theme during this party but honestly when are glow sticks not appropriate party attire?!

Oh I was also wearing my octopus necklace! This was my most themed item, I think haha.

During the party characters came out to dance, lots of dancing happened and then! A pirate repelled down and ~took over~! Ooh, tense.

But what's that?! Pirate Mickey ziplined across the length of the ship and landed at the stage to save the day!

Immediately after this excitement was the best part of all- the fireworks!!

Disney cruise line is the ONLY cruise line that has fireworks at sea!
In fact, they have to be legally classified as a Navy to be able to carry explosives!

Just makes me all the more impressed with Disney- constantly pulling off things that others won't even attempt.

After the fireworks, we wandered off to find the pirate buffet. I am so glad our table-mate told us about this, because it was not talked about at ALL! It wasn't announced, wasn't in our daily navigator, nothing!

Unfortunately nothing really stuck out to be as appetizing and I ended up not eating anything.

My favorite part was the bowls of turkey legs. If you have ever been to Disney world you know their turkey legs are kind of infamous. So to just have bowls full of them for the taking like this was tickling!

After the buffet it was getting late and I once again found myself getting tired. I went back to the room while my boyfriend wandered the ship a little longer. I knew I wanted to get to bed at a decent time because I wanted to start the next day early!

The next day we would be at Castaway Cay - Disney's private island!!

Day 2 aboard the Disney Magic: Nassau Bahamas - part 1

Yes I am so much of a blabber mouth that I need more than one post to talk about just ONE day. It's crazy talk. But I want to talk a lot. and post lots of pictures. A lot happened! So I am splitting it up.

That right there is the first view of another country I ever had. We woke up a little late (9) and still had to get ready and eat breakfast. But looking out on Nassau was an indescribable feeling. I'm so glad we had a huge window.

Above you see what took us so long to get ready. My face. I spent a lot of time on my makeup because I knew the day would be so busy that I wouldn't have time to re-do it or touch it up. Here you can hardly see my lids because they are so hooded...but there will be other pictures where you can see my makeup better.
Anyway, this was us about to leave for breakfast.

Okay, I'm a breakfast freak. It's my favorite meal of the day. So I was taken aback at the huge selection of breakfast foods there was. There was literally everything you could imagine!
As you can see there were scrambled eggs, bacon, donuts, and Mickey waffles!!
On top of that there was eggs benedict, omelets, sausage, toast, english muffins, bagels, pancakes, blueberry pancakes, yogurt, a bunch of stuff to put in yogurt like flax seeds, fresh fruit and cheeses, the list goes on and on!! It was the largest spread I've ever seen.

The obligatory bahamas welcome sign picture. I am wearing a dress from Target and jeggings from Walmart. Man I really dressed with a budget on this cruise!

So we finally got off the boat at around 11. We had barely taken a few steps off the ship when I realized I didn't bring my ID. At first we weren't sure if I would need it but then we decided since I was drinking, I probably would. So my boyfriend sweetly ran back up to the room to grab it for me while I sat and took selfies of myself by the water.
It's a good thing he went back for it because even though I didn't need it to drink, I needed it to pass through "customs" and board the ship again!

The first thing we did was head towards the straw market. Between the ship and the market (which, if you've been, is not far at all) we got harassed by people a' plenty to get us to buy their goods, rent their scooter, take their tour, or in some other way give them money. I felt genuinely bad because if I had the money I would have loved to do most of the things they were offering. So I made sure to say no thank you to all of them and eventually my boyfriend got annoyed with this. He told me to just ignore them, but I couldn't do that! I felt much better at least acknowledging them.

Once we went into the straw market it was like the streets on steroids. The first thing that happened when we walked in was some lady gave us these (not particularly cute) necklaces saying it was a gift for everyone that came. I really didn't think anything of it, just kept walking and trying to get my bearings. But then she gave my bf a sob story about school children needing money, and asking for a "tip" so yeah we ended up giving her money for a necklace we never would have bought to begin with.

Immediately I noticed that most of the stalls had pretty much the same items. Some were just better or cheaper than others. The thing about the straw market was you're supposed to haggle, no price is set. That's why nothign has a price on it. You have to ask.

I have to admit there was a point in the market that I was fed up with being bothered. Every SINGLE person tried to get my attention by shouting "hey, pretty girl!" As if complimenting me makes me want to spend money. Then they would say things like "Look here!" and I wanted to be like Tht's what I'm DOING. I'm looking. That's literally exactly what I'm already doing.

So I decided early on that I wanted something with a mermaid on it. I wasn't finding anything other than Ariel straw purses. I liked all the different straw bags but I couldn't bring myself to spend the money on it because most of them were big and I didn't know what I would honestly do with them.

So in the end only 2 shops got us. At one we bought 3/$5 bracelets that were like hand woven string friendship bracelets that said Bahamas. At that same shop they had some nice necklaces that were of course fake but still looked nice.

I set my eyes on a pearl necklace that was priced at $30. We were like hah no. So finally we were walking away and she says the lowest she can go is $20. We still weren't planning on spending that much so we said no thanks. My bf made her a final offer of $15. She acted insulted for about 2 seconds before we turned around to leave again, and she said "ok 18 is the best I can do" So we decided to impulsively buy it.

One thing I would recommend especially if you are going as a couple: talk about how much you are willing to spend in advance. We were sitting there trying to read each others minds and not offend anyone and we were not on the same page at all.

Here is the Ariel purse I ended up getting. I liked it because it was small and had a magnetic closure clip. It also has a long strap which attracted me. We spent $10 on this, which isn't a bad price in my opinion.

The one other place I knew I wanted to go to was Senor Frog's. Over the years I have seen pictures from this place pop up from numerous friends who went on cruises. It just looked like a fun, touristy place. One you knew would be fairly safe because it is so touristy.

I had no idea how fun it would be.

When we got there we got seated in the back by the bar since we were only there for drinks. I had to get one of the infamous yard stick drinks. I got a Senor Frogs famous blue margarita in it. It was pretty good!

It wasn't long after we got there that the fun began. People were standing on tables to sing karaoke, and the hype man (I don't know his actual job but he really just hyped the crowd so we'll go with that) was giving out shots willy nilly because it was some girls birthday.

This was the point where we decided we were on the wrong side of the bar. So we went over to the other side where all the action was.

What comes next, I wish so badly I had more pictures of. But, my boyfriend's a little slow and didn't think to take pictures of what was happening until the very end. *sigh* I will teach him some day. Pictures are important!!!

SO we were sitting at the main long table for only a few minutes when a group of girls came around as part of a bachelorette party. The hype MC got the bride-to-be on the table and then pointed me out of the crowd and chose me. I got up nervously, not knowing what I was agreeing to.

He told us he had a game for us, and the winner would get a free drink on him. Didn't sound so bad so I agreed. That's when he told us it was a scavenger hunt.

First we had to grab a straw. Then, we had to get a shot of tequila from the bartender. Then we had to take the shot of tequila. I was apprehensive, I normally can't do a shot without a chaser, or in tequila's case, salt & lime. But I wasn't about to waste a free shot so I threw my head back and took it like a champ.

I tried to let the bachelorette win because, you know, it's her celebration. So when we had to track down the restaurant manager, I dragged my feet a little.

Then it got wacky. We were told to collect as many shoes as we could. Again, I dragged my feet a little because I wanted the other girl to win! I was just happy to play. But then before I knew it people were coming up to me from all over the restaurant giving me their shoes. It was so funny. It wasn't until the time was up that I realized some people were yelling at me for me to put MY shoes in the pile. DUH! But luckily the amount didn't matter.

After that he gave us all 20 seconds to get everyone's shoes back on. If we could do that, free shots for everyone. Of course they all raced to get their shoes back on. This was especially funny because there were baby shoes in there and those are a little difficult to get back on.

After everyone had their shoes on he said everyone has to stand to get the shots. So everyone stood. Then he said everyone in the building has to be standing, and we had 10 seconds to get everyone to stand up!

Somehow we did it and we all started a conga line that went through different stations of people pouring shots from a bottle into your mouth. There were maybe 6 of these that we went through.

Then we were sneakily lead to the dance floor and put on the spot to do the Cupid shuffle. I for one did not know how to do the cupid shuffle. But I figured it out! and danced right there in the middle of the dance floor.

This may not seem like a huge deal, but I am pretty shy normally and don't like doing things in front of crowds.

It was such a fun and freeing time. That place was like spring break in a bottle. They constantly had something going on to be a party. After this, we danced some more, then he had some girls on stage for a who-can-chug-the-strawberry-daiquiri-the-fastest. Then more karaoke!

Unfortunately after coming back from dancing I found out my yard drink got spilled by someone, so I didn't even get to finish half of it. I ordered another drink and then we left. It's a good thing- it is WAY too easy to spend too much money there!

This is one of my favorite pictures. These chairs were SO big and so hard to get out of, we were slipping around and falling in them. Our drinks gave us the giggles.

The view from Senor Frogs was beautiful. Above is the first lighthouse I've ever seen!!!! Crazy, right? I was pretty excited about it. Not to mention the sparkling blue water.

We decided to go straight back to the ship from Senor Frogs. We made a pit stop at the liquor store, so we could get some Bahamian rum (you're allowed to bring a liter back, each). I got a liter for only $10, so not bad prices at all!

After that we went in a very very touristy souvenir shop. Normally I would prefer to support local businesses but they had such good deals (3 shotglasses for $5) I really couldn't pass it up.

After those pit stops I was more than ready to go back on the ship. But then my bf spotted the Tortuga Rum Cake shop and suggested we stopped there. I just followed him, not having any real interest. But then they had free samples. and I immediately knew that I had to get my hands on the Key Lime rum cake. It was delicious!

While in the shop, Fall Out Boy came on the radio, which took us by surprise. We love FOB so it was such a pleasant surprise to hear them in another country.

Continuing on that good mood, we walked back to the street to finally make our way back to the boat. We were walking by a huge touristy bar when I realized they were blaring Lana Del Rey "Young & Beautiful" and I about peed my pants. I was the perfect amount of tipsy to just feel instantly in heaven. Soaking in the view, basking in the sunlight, swaying in the breeze and singing along to Lana Del Rey in the bahamas is probably one of my favorite moments of the whole cruise. She makes me happy.

On our way back onto the ship we got harassed all over again by the same people we passed on the way in. One lady said "Did you decide to get your hair braided?" and I couldn't help but laugh out loud. Me with my hair braided...I would be like Monica from Friends. Not a good look. Once we were about 10 feet away I said "it would look cool in my hair" (since my hair is 2 different colors) and the lady shouted "It WOULD look so cool!!!" I had to give her props for that but, still no.

We got back onto the ship at about 3 something. The rest of the night was very eventful and will all be part o the next post!
