Happy Mean Girls Day!

Truth be told, I've been looking forward to this day for a while now. Once I realized the 10th anniversary of the iconic movie's release was coming up, I let my mind wander at all the different ways I could honor it.
I've already done the obvious and watched it 2 and a half times.

You may think it's silly to get so excited about a movie. But this movie set the tone for my adolescence and has never left my heart. I still watch it every single time it's on TV. I have seen it over a hundred times.

When I was in middle school, my best friend and I would order it off pay per view because we were under the impression that if you cancelled the purchase before you watched the movie all the way through, it didn't count! Yeaaah. We literally ordered it every night that summer. Once her parents got the bill they wanted to kill us. But we really didn't know better and we didn't know how much it added up to be.

Mean Girls is one of the only movies that I can watch over and over and never get sick of. Every time I watch it, something new catches my eye. It is chock full of recognizable punch lines, most of which is surprisingly intelligent for a "teen blockbuster" movie. This, of course, is due to the fact that the script was written by Tina Fey. It is based on a nonfiction book about girls trying to make it through high school. She wrote the story based on that.

Now that I'm older I appreciate the film in so many new ways. It taught us all that "calling someone else ugly won't make you any prettier. Calling somebody else fat won't make you any skinnier." etc. It taught us that we females should stop calling each other sluts and whores because it only makes it okay for guys to call us sluts and whores. Even though I don't agree with that exact sentiment, I take it as the overall meaning that we shouldn't put each other down because that makes it easier for guys to do it to us.

Anyway to say I'm obsessed with the movie is an understatement. I can say every word on time with my eyes closed.

So to pay tribute I did so in the best ways I knew how. I wore pink (because duh, it's wednesday) and I wore my mean girls necklace!

For starters I bought this necklace quite a while ago off ebay for $20. I originally saw it on Domino Dollhouse but I waited too long to buy it and then it sold out! So I searched and searched and found it on ebay and didn't waste any time- snatched em right up. When it came I held onto it because I didn't want to wear it until today. Its really clunky but I love it.

I wore a pink headband with a bow to go with the pink motif and I used Elf lock and seal to make pink eyeliner.

You can see the eyeliner and headband better in this picture! and of course the necklace :)
For the eyeliner I used MAC pigment Bright Fuchsia.

The pigment I turned into eyeliner is on the left, and then the polish that I used.

I finally got around to using my first Ellagee polish! it's from the Dolphins collection called ERMAHGERD DERFENS and hellooo dolphin glitter!!!! I was so excited for this collection and I haven't even had a chance to really play with it yet.

I chose this one because obviously it is pink!
And of course, a nice coat of Seche Vite fast drying top coat because the dolphin glitters are prone to sticking up.

I didn't get the best pictures but basically I really like this polish. It's jelly and this is about 3 coats. I did have to fish a little for the glitters but it was worth it, and not too much of a pain in the ass.

It's really hard to see the glitters in the pics I got but I think you can tell that they are there. It looks a lot better in person!

Last but not least is a better picture of the eyeliner, coupled with a sneak peak of my Nyx Macaron lippies! Lookout for that post coming SOON! :)

So I hope everyone had a very fetch Mean Girls day. I hope you quote it until your heart was content. I know I did.

And I can't let this day go without acknowledging my other obsession and say that tomorrow-
